Akiko gives us a very fantastic lectures on the topic ‘immunology on long COVID’, In this talk, she mainly introduced the hypothesis that may cause long COVID, including 1) viral reservoir/viral PAMP. 2) autoimmunity. 3) dysbiosis/latent virus reactive. 4) tissue damage. 

Besides, she introduced a very smart design on the distal inflammation on the CNS by introducing hACE2 encoding AAV vector i.t. introduced into the mouse, which allows viral entry receptor only expressed in the respiratory tract, results showed that direction infection of the CNS is not required to induce significant CNS pathology. 

It deeply opens our mind on the understanding of the pathogenesis and potential therapeutic management of long COVID.
